As the smartest smart phone ever, the iPhone does tons of things that noone ever expected a cell phone to do. As one might expect, the iPhone offers a variety of text messaging features as well. SMS is a snippet of the text, which can be sent and received by the iPhone. A more formal definition of SMS messages can be found on Wikipedia, which says: “Short Message Service (SMS), often called text messaging, is a means of sending short messages to and from mobile phones.”
Sending and receiving SMS messages is easy with the iPhone’s predictive QWERTY keyboard. The iPhone’s SMS messaging is another elegant masterpiece from the folks at Apple. Messages are arranged as discussion forum boards, allowing users to see how conversations progressed on the screen. Messages sent are highlighted in green, while messages you received are in gray. Most importantly, the messages are neatly arranged on the screen in the order they were sent and received for easy reading.
Another innovation of the iPhone is active links within text messages. By simply tapping on the link within a message you will be redirected to the website the link is pointing to using the iPhone’s integrated Apple Safari browser.
